GA Committee

The Governmental & Public Affairs Committee encourages participation among the general membership in grass roots political actions, monitors local legislation affecting the real estate industry and promotes the REALTOR® movement and the SEATTLE KingCounty REALTORS® to its membership and the public.

Advocacy Team

SKCR's Governmental & Public Affairs advocacy team is one of the most effective in the country among local trade associations. Our team consists of a Governmental & Public  Affairs Director, two housing specialists (lobbyists)and a dedicated public relations specialist.

To help you keep track to the local issues affecting your real estate business and clients, our advocacy team publishes the quarterly Governmental Affairs Reporter.

Annually, the team hosts the popular Housing Issues Briefing to update local officials on the key issues affecting real estate.

The Political Affairs committee conducts candidate interviews to determine where they stand on key real estate issues. The team then produces the REALTOR® Voting Guide with information regarding candidate ratings, endorsements along with the interview questionnaire used during the interview process.
