Bellevue Chamber Launches Initiative to Connect Volunteers with Nonprofits
May 22, 2024
Eastside REALTORS®, and especially young professionals, are invited to be part of an initiative of the Bellevue Chamber to connect volunteers with nonprofits. The new event, called Believe, is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.
The showcase of nonprofits is being presented by the Chamber’s Eastside Leadership Initiative (ELI). It’s designed to “give nonprofits the opportunity to connect with the next generation of volunteers, donors, and board members in a casual, party atmosphere.”
Fifteen not-for-profit organizations are expected to be part of the inaugural event. Organizers said space restrictions limited the number of groups in the showcase and welcomed suggestions for nonprofits to include at future events. The groups that are part of the May 30 event are also nominees for the Bellevue Chamber’s Community Spotlight Awards gala on June 14.
Registration for “Believe” costs $25; discounts are available for groups. Scheduled from 5–7 PM, the event features music, games, food, and beverages.
The Eastside Leadership Initiative identifies, trains, and matches upcoming community leaders with opportunities to grow and serve. In addition to volunteer opportunities, ELI provides leadership development programs and information on openings with government commissions and nonprofit boards.
